April 2009 - SMC Networks (www.smc.com), a leading provider of LAN hardware and broadband connectivity devices, today announced the launch of its HomePlug AV Ethernet Adapter (SMCHPAV-ETH) with data transfer rates of up to 200Mbps, making it ideal for real-time applications in home or small office networks. The adapter is easy to install and turns each available AC power outlet into a network connection point, making it the most cost-effective way to create or extend a home network, without the need to run expensive cabling or perform extensive network configuration. The Ethernet port simply connects to network-enabled devices such as PCs, modems, routers or gaming consoles. 128-bit AES encryption guarantees maximum data security.
