Ideal for building or extending easy, high-performance, flexible networks that are optimized for transmission of demanding applications for video, VoIP, and broadband access sharing, SMC’s newest HomePlug AV-compliant adapters optimize connection options in today’s homes. The new SMCHPAVH-ETH adapters have the flexibility to transmit signals over ordinary AC electrical cabling, as well as over an additional medium—coaxial cabling—that’s in place in many of today’s homes. Great for building high-performance networks from scratch or for extending existing networks, SMC EZ Connect Powerline networking products build efficient networks without the expense and inconvenience of running new cabling, by using existing electrical outlets as connection points to a network run over standard AC electrical wiring, or, optionally, over the coaxial cabling that’s in place for cable service applications.. The EZ Connect 200Mbps Powerline AV Hybrid Ethernet Adapter (SMCHPAVH-ETH) uses auto-sensing and rate-adaptive technology to ensure that connections maintain the highest possible performance. With 200 Mbps data rates at the physical layer and an average throughput of 70-100 Mbps over power line—and even higher over coaxial network cabling--these high-speed devices are ideal solutions for video transfer, IPTV and high data rate broadband sharing applications. Further, the HomePlug devices are reliable, secure (with encryption built-in) and easy to set up. Customers simply plug one SMCHPAVH-ETH into an AC outlet near a router or a broadband device, and plug other SMCHPAVH-ETH adapters into outlets near any other devices the customer wants to network.
