Barcelona - 07. August 2007 - SMC Networks (www.smc.com), a leading provider of LAN hardware and broadband connectivity devices, today extended its line of 802.11n wireless networking products. The new products offer the benefits of high speed, coverage and bandwidth to home and office users whilst being compatible with 802.11b and g standards and are designed for use with demanding applications such as online gaming, high definition video streaming, file sharing and VoIP. The platform independent, multi-functional router combines a high speed 300Mbps Wireless-N access point, a 4-port Gigabit Switch, firewall with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), Intelligent stream handling technology, a USB2.0 multi-function Print Server for printing from any networked PC and Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) for easy set up of wireless security.

The SMC EZ Connect™ 802.11n draft v2.0 Wireless Access Point/Ethernet Client (SMCWEB-N) is a multi-function device that can operate in either Access Point or Ethernet Client modes to add high speed wireless connectivity to the network or connect multiple Ethernet-enabled devices including game consoles, media players or Network Attached Storage devices. Optimised for multimedia applications, the SMCWEB-N has 4 Fast Ethernet LAN ports and incorporates Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling Technology (WISH).

When connected to a network anchored by the Barricade™ N Wireless 4-port Router (SMCWGBR14-N) or other 802.11n router, the new EZ Connect™ N Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (SMCWUSB-N) gives wireless connectivity to PCs or notebooks.
