The problem might be due to accumulation of dust over the cooling fan. We suggest you to gently blow air on the fan without opening the device and check if the noise persists. Please note that hard blowing of air might cause damage to the device.

Ensure that Switch is placed in a place that has good ventilation to avoid overheating of the switch.

Turn OFF the switch, unplug all the devices from the switch except for the power cable. Power ON and check for the status of the LEDs. Now connect two computers to the switch. Assign static IP addresses to these computers. Ping one computer from another and observe the replies received.

The command is (from a command prompt):
'Ping (IP address of the other computer) -t'

Try using different cables to make the connection. If you have another switch, try connecting the PC's to that Switch and check whether network connection is established or not.
