Overview
The SMC8748L2 is a feature-rich 10/100/1000BASE-T standalone managed switch
with optional 10G uplinks. This gigabit workgroup aggregator switch is
designed to handle high bandwidth applications and capable of reaching up to
136Gbps with a non-blocking single chip switching architecture. It provides
cost-effective, gigabit ethernet switching for bandwidth-intensive networks
that require advanced switching features: Quality of Service (QoS) with eight
levels of priority, weighted fair queuing and L2/3/4 IP. With these features
the SMC8748L2 ensures smooth transmission of mission critical data; VLANs
based on frame tags or ports, support for automatic GVRP LAN registration and
spanning tree per VLAN provide maximum security and bandwidth efficiency. The
comprehensive security features include RADIUS, IEEE802.1x, SSH, SSL,TACACS+,
and ACL. High port -density and 1U high, this switch is ideal for enterprise
workgroup installations.
