Overview
The SMC8700GXP10L3 is a single port XENPAK module which enables the SMC8724ML3
and SMC8748ML3 to have 10G uplinks. This module supports 10GBASE-T, SR, LR or
ER standard XENPAK transceivers. 10G network connections are becoming
nessesary to give uplink options for gigabit edge switch and this module
provides that connection. When connected to stacked switches the 10G modules
can be grouped together into an aggregation to enable even higher bandwidth
back to the core of a network.
