Short description
The SMCXFPMOD is a single port XFP module which enables the SMC8748L2 and
SMC8824M/ SMC8848M to have 10G uplinks. This module supports SR, LR or ER
standard XFP transceivers. 10G network connections are becoming nessesary to
give uplink options for gigabit edge switch and this module provides that
connection.
Long description
The SMCXFPMOD is a single port XFP module which enables the SMC8748L2 and
SMC8824M/ SMC8848M to have 10G uplinks. This module supports SR, LR or ER
standard XFP transceivers. 10G network connections are becoming nessesary to
give uplink options for gigabit edge switch and this module provides that
connection. The 10G modules can be grouped together into an aggregation to
enable even higher bandwidth back to the core of a network.
